Baby it’s Cold Outside!  This chili Cook-Off is sure to be perfect time to warm up for a fun family night at Gorton!  Come to compete or come enjoy the delicious chilis.

If you decide to compete, enter your team and bring two Crockpots filled with your chili and bring the list of ingredients.   Patrons vote for their favorite chili recipe and we will have first, second and third place winners!  Winners will be announced at 5:45.

Chili, for the purpose of this contest, is defined as any kind of meat, meat substitute, cooked with chili peppers, or other peppers, spices, vegetables and other ingredients.  May or may not include beans.

  • Each contestant/team must supply 3 quarts and two slow cookers with cooked ready to eat chili.  Set up time will be 3:15pm/event opens to public at 4:00.
  • Contestant/team will be assigned a set up area and must keep it safe and clean.
  • Each team has the opportunity to be featured on our website (please provide photo and “chili bio”)
  • Please bring a copy of your recipe (unless it’s a family secret!) and a chili star rating of spice level (we will provide)
Entrance fee is $50 – spots are limited and are to be filled on a first come first serve basis. Please bring chili already made.  Teams will get one six foot table and up to three chairs at each table.
If you would like to attend this event as a “taster” cost is $5 per person.  This includes a meal (we are catering chili-both meat and vegetarian) and the ability to sample small tastes of all the contestants’ chilis and to vote for your favorite!
This is a fun family event!  Enter our raffle for a chance to win prizes, and raffle winners will be announced every half hour.
Cash bar will be available with beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks.

Devil’s Workshop BBQ:

Devil’s Workshop Barbeque started as a hobby focused on learning to cook like the great pitmasters around the country and has expanded into something more: A passion for sharing experiences, spreading joy, and strengthening bonds of friendship and love all through barbeque – and that includes chili! Our family: dad, mom, and two daughters love to cook together and when it comes to our barbecue that means early morning prepping and seasoning and we continue on through the night stoking fires and running the smoker. You can learn more about us at devilsworkshopbbq.com.

Gorton Community Center will take and may use photos and videos from this event for its promotional purposes. Your attendance indicates your consent to the above.

Film and Event Refund and Cancellation Policy: There is no refund given for unused film or event tickets.
