Baking a Vanilla Volcano Cake via Zoom


Learn to make a delicious, family/kid friendly Vanilla Volcano Cake. Can you think of a yummier way to learn measurements? Kristin Ryan, Gorton’s own kid’s & family cooking instructor is excited to bring you into her own kitchen for a Zoom Baking class!! You are the chef and Kristin can show you how to make baked goods gluten free or dairy free. You will be emailed a shopping list once you have registered. Ages-kids and family

 Bundt cake pan – ring cake pan – 2 8 or 9 inch cake pans
 Mixing bowl
 Saucepan

 2 ½ cups spelt flour – or ANY flour of your choice
 Baking powder
 Cardamom
 Salt
 6 tablespoons coconut oil – or ghee or butter
 1-cup maple syrup
 1 ¼ cups milk – dairy or non-dairy, I use almond or oat milk
 2 teaspoons vanilla
 Apple cider vinegar
 4 cups mixed berries – fresh or frozen – ANY variety
 6 ounces white chocolate
 1 ½ cups cream

Class Refund and Cancellation Policy: Refunds will only be given up to one week prior to the first week of class of any session. (The refund period for some classes, which require advanced reservations or purchase of materials, may be more limited.) Cancellations will incur a $5 handling fee for programs costing under $100 and a 10% handling fee for programs with fees of $100 or more. If a class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, you will be notified, and a full refund will be given.

If this class does not meet the minimum participation requirement, you will be notified of the cancellation within one week of the start date.

By purchasing a ticket to an event at Gorton, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and/or I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending or participating in a Gorton program, event or activity and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to my child(ren) or myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I or my child(ren) may experience or incur in connection with my or my child(ren)’s attendance at Gorton or participation in a Gorton program, event or activity (“Claims”). On my behalf, and on behalf of my children, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless Gorton, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of Gorton, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any Gorton program, event or activity.
