Adult Art: Beginner Color Pencil with Phil Schorn

This beginner class is designed for those with little to no experience with the color pencil. You will learn how to use the pencils to create a realistic rendering.
You will also learn techniques for using the pencils, blending techniques, drawing on white and black paper, and adding details. Participants will be provided reference images.

Supplies to be purchase on your own:

Set of Prismacolor 48 Softcore color pencils. (or larger set)

9 x 12 Strathmore smooth Bristol drawing paper (comes in a pad of 20 sheets)

Drawing board (a smooth surface for the paper)

Paint brush (used as a drafting brush)

Colorless Blender Pen (a marker with no color)

Pencil sharpener (manual or electric)
This class runs Tuesdays, September 27 – November 1, 1:00pm – 2:30pm

Ages: 14 and Up

Gorton Community Center will take and may use photos and videos from this event for its promotional purposes. Your attendance indicates your consent to the above.

On my behalf, and on behalf of my children, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless Gorton, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of Gorton, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any program, event or activity that took place at Gorton.
