Boost Your Creativity: Activities for your Left Brain!
Boost Your Creativity is a 3 part series but you can also drop-in for a single session at $40/session or attend all 3 at $120
Session 1: Doodles, Drawing & Mark Making on Thursday, January 24th; 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Session 2: Exploring Color on Thursday, February 7th; 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Session 3: Shapes, Abstracts & Collage on Thursday, February 21st; 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Doodling can be used as a meditative exercise, or a way to move a writing instrument to keep our brain active. Drawing is a more advanced technique to help make sense of the things in our surroundings. Mark making is a way of exploring how to capture new and different impressions with paint on paper. This session uses a bit of each technique to energize your brain as an artist would.
This is the first session in a series to break out of your left brain, linear-thinking tasks: schedules, processes, routines, and sameness. These art activities will infuse your day with right brain activity to help balance cognitive energy. Learn these art processes to be more mindful, playful, and open to new ways of thinking. Prior knowledge of art techniques is not necessary; these are adaptable exercises using common supplies.
Gorton Community Center will take and may use photos and videos from this event for its promotional purposes. Your attendance indicates your consent to the above.
Class Refund and Cancellation Policy: Refunds will only be given up to one week prior to the first week of class of any session. (The refund period for some classes, which require advanced reservations or purchase of materials, may be more limited.) Cancellations will incur a $5 handling fee for programs costing under $100 and a 10% handling fee for programs with fees of $100 or more. If a class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, you will be notified, and a full refund will be given.
If this class does not meet the minimum participation requirement, you will be notified of the cancellation within one week of the start date.

On my behalf, and on behalf of my children, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless Gorton, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of Gorton, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any Gorton program, event or activity.
