Ages:  Grades 2nd – 6th

Your child’s day will consist of 1 hour of Lego Robotics, a dive into engineering that allows students to create animated robots out of Lego pieces, 1 hour of Tynker Coding & Game Design, a gamified entry into programming that allows your child’s imagination to create real live video games they can play with their friends, and 1 hour of Math Edge, a fun take on math where kids work together in a group to solve math puzzles and problems.

Want to fully engage and challenge your aspiring engineer, computer programmer or scientist? Sylvan’s robotics programs are run through a partnership with LEGO. We offer classes for the beginner and the expert. No matter your child’s experience level, he or she can jump into Robotics without any prior experience. With our fun hands on activities, your child will practice real life STEM skills, work on problem solving skills, and have a great time creating robots with our LEGO WEDO software! 2nd and 3rd graders work on 101 and 102 level projects, while 4th, 5th and 6th graders elevate to the more challenging 201, 202, and 203 series.

Think your child likes playing video games? Well they will love creating their own! Student will be creating video games, animated stories and bringing their imaginations to life. Skills they will learn along the way include basic coding and programming, problem solving, logic, physics and more. This is a great way to get kids excited about coding, and STEM. You student will learn how to create custom characters and animations, sounds, and special effects using our partnership with Tynker TM software. Students will also develop mini storied, troubleshoot programming errors, and collaborate with other students to ensure a fun and memory lasting summer! 2nd and 3rd graders will work on 101 and 102 level projects, while 4th, 5th and 6th graders will dive into the more challenging 201 and 202 curriculum.
