FA-LA-LA FILM Fest presents

When bratty 8-year-old Kevin McCallister acts out the night before a family trip to Paris, his mother makes him sleep in the attic. After the McCallisters mistakenly leave for the airport without Kevin, he awakens to an empty house and assumes his wish to have no family has come true. But his excitement sours when he realizes that two con men plan to rob the McCallister residence, and that he alone must protect the family home.

TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

The 35th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, featuring thousands of twinkling lights, will be held on Friday, November 23rd in Lake Forest’s historic Market Square and on Western Avenue at the train station. This annual event, presented by The Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation and sponsored by Lake Forest Bank & Trust Company, has become a traditional gathering of family, friends and visitors to the community.

Starting at 1:00p.m., a holiday movie will be shown at Gorton Community Center. Come to Market Square at 3:00pm – there will be events for the whole family to enjoy! There will be an Ice Sculpting performance by Art Below Zero beginning at 3:00p.m. An arts and crafts activity will also be available beginning at 3:00p.m. Children will have an opportunity to make a holiday ornament to be hung on the Christmas tree. For children and the young-at-heart, there will be a special visit from Santa Claus from 3:30-5:00p.m., and everyone can enjoy hot chocolate and donut holes provided by Lake Forest Bank & Trust Company. A caroling concert by the Lake Forest High School Choristers begins at 4:30p.m. Lake Forest Dance Academy performance begins at 5:00p.m. and just after, the lights will be set aglow. Western Avenue between Deerpath and Westminster will be closed to vehicular traffic from 2:00p.m. to 5:30p.m.
