Appreciating Movies with Victor Aronovich is a journey through the world of film. You will examine the technical and aesthetic principles of movies. Drawing on a wide array of examples, these classes will look at the importance of story, film aesthetics, the craft of acting and the role of directors as film’s authors.
If you are a layman who wants to know more about the world of film for personal entertainment, this is the class for you! This class brings to life the wonderful art of film making. Class participants will watch numerous scenes from Oscar-winning films like A Beautiful Mind and Crash. Each presentation will provide audiences with informed opinions that will heighten your movie enjoyment!

Victor Aronovich worked at ABC-TV as a writer, producer and director for almost 20 years. During this time, he created hundreds of diverse video programs that received numerous national and international awards including four Emmys. His TV programs were watched by millions of viewers. In 1994, Victor founded Prime-Time Productions and the company has produced numerous programs & documentaries for major corporations and TV networks. These productions also received many awards. More recently Victor has been teaching film and video production courses at various film schools.

Gorton Community Center will take and may use photos and videos from this event for its promotional purposes. Your attendance indicates your consent to the above.

Class Refund and Cancellation Policy: Refunds will only be given up to one week prior to the first week of class of any session. (The refund period for some classes, which require advanced reservations or purchase of materials, may be more limited.) Cancellations will incur a $5 handling fee for programs costing under $100 and a 10% handling fee for programs with fees of $100 or more. If a class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, you will be notified, and a full refund will be given.

*If this class does not meet the minimum participation requirement, you will be notified of the cancellation within one week of the start date.
